A meditative practice. What if, rather than putting things down in the place you last used them, you paused and placed every object a relationship to the objects around it. Nanette Walsh in her recent book, Unsmudged, recounts that police investigating a break-in at the home of Peggy Williams, a revered British teacher of Alexander Technique, found fingerprints unlike any they’d found before: clear, unsmudged, and complete. If we adopted Peggy’s practice, how would we change? Would we carve moments for our selves out of our busy day?  Would our homes be calmer, the manifestations of order, the reflections of mind. Might our homes and offices reflect a meditative practice and be oases for us and our visitors? Most assuredly, yes, and how important in these deep troubled times. Would you try it with me?
