Alexander Technique: Jazz up your walk. Among the desiderata for baseball pitchers: Falling up over the front foot. While you might not get their salary for doing so, falling up over your front foot while walking is good medicine. When you do, the rear foot will swing (knee first) to forward your next step and keep you from falling down. The work of the gastrocnemius (the belly muscle of the calf) to propel the back foot is minimal. Jazz up your walk. It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing. Doo wah-doo-wah.
