Abandon measured by mindfulness

 This morning in the Tallahassee Democrat, Microsoft’s Chairman of the Board and Florida A & M graduate John Thompson got a headline with this: “Take a risk, but have an idea first.” Here’s a rule to live by, a philosophy of music, and more of the Alexander Technique than you might otherwise encounter today. As we increase our skill level we may increase our level of risk. Risk, Mr. Thompson seems to be saying is ameliorated by abandon measured by mindfulness. A good recipe for progress in any endeavor.
