IMG_0228Great instruments — organs, violins, celli, pianos — have curators, individuals whose responsibility it is to preserve the integrity of an instrument. One of the greatest of instruments, the harp of thousand strings, to quote American Composer William Billings, is the human body. Your body, your integrated self, your own harp of a thousand strings, needs a curator as well. You need someone on your team whose attention is devoted, not to the tunes you play, but to the condition of the instrument on which you play them, to the preservation of the incomparably complex instrument of your self. You need  a curator, a teacher of the Alexander Technique.
